Common questions, honest answers.

Is Selank an anxiety medication?

  • No. Selank is not FDA-approved to treat anxiety or any other psychiatric condition in the United States. Although it has been researched for anxiety-related effects, it should not replace prescribed mental-health treatment.

  • Will Selank make me feel sleepy or sedated?

  • Selank is generally researched for calming effects without traditional sedation. Individual responses can vary, however, and its safety and effects have not been established through large U.S. clinical trials.

  • How quickly might I notice effects?

  • There is no established timeline for response. Individual experiences may vary depending on the formulation, protocol, baseline health, and treatment goals.

  • Can Selank be used with antidepressants or anxiety medications?

  • Potential medication interactions should be reviewed by a qualified provider before use. Clients should disclose antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, stimulants, sleep medications, and other medications or supplements during their medical evaluation.

  • What’s the cancellation policy?

  • We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours will incur a 50% fee. If we arrive and are unable to reach you or access the appointment location after a brief grace period, the visit will be considered a no-show and may be charged up to the full service amount. Same-day bookings require a minimum of 4 hours’ notice for any changes. As each appointment is reserved exclusively for you — including provider time and travel — we appreciate your understanding.

  • Are there conditions that disqualify someone?

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding, certain medical or psychiatric conditions, medication interactions, allergies, or other individual risk factors may affect candidacy. A medical evaluation should be completed before treatment.

  • Is Selank FDA-approved?

  • No. Selank is not FDA-approved in the United States for anxiety, cognitive enhancement, stress management, or other therapeutic uses.

  • How long does it take to notice increased pigmentation?

  • There is no established treatment timeline, and individual response can vary based on baseline skin tone, genetics, dose, and other factors. Changes in pigmentation may develop gradually rather than immediately.

  • Do I still need sunscreen while using Melanotan II?

  • Yes. Increased pigmentation does not eliminate the risk of UV-related skin damage or skin cancer. Broad-spectrum sunscreen and appropriate sun-protective measures remain important.

  • Do I need to tan or use UV exposure with Melanotan II?

  • Melanotan II can increase pigmentation, but intentional UV exposure carries established risks and should not be considered “safe” because Melanotan II is being used. We would avoid positioning tanning beds or additional UV exposure as part of the treatment protocol.

  • Can Melanotan II make freckles or moles darker?

  • It can increase pigmentation of existing freckles, moles, and other pigmented areas. Any new, rapidly changing, irregular, bleeding, itching, or otherwise concerning lesion should be evaluated by a qualified dermatology provider.

  • Candidacy requires individualized medical evaluation. A history of melanoma or other skin cancers, atypical/dysplastic nevi, concerning pigmented lesions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or certain medical conditions may make treatment inappropriate or warrant additional evaluation.

  • What are the possible side effects?

  • Reported effects can include nausea, flushing, decreased appetite, headache, fatigue, increased pigmentation of freckles or moles, and changes in libido or spontaneous erections. Because Melanotan II is investigational, its complete long-term safety profile has not been established.
