Common questions, honest answers.

How is Sermorelin different from HGH?

  • HGH supplies growth hormone directly to the body. Sermorelin instead stimulates the pituitary gland to produce and release the body’s own growth hormone.

  • How long does it take to notice results?

  • Response varies based on baseline hormone levels, age, lifestyle, treatment goals, and individual physiology. Changes in sleep or recovery may be noticed before changes in body composition, which generally take longer.

  • Can Sermorelin help with weight loss?

  • Sermorelin is not an FDA-approved weight-loss medication. Its effects on growth-hormone signaling may support aspects of metabolism and body composition, but nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and other lifestyle factors remain important.

  • How does Sermorelin work?

  • Sermorelin binds to GHRH receptors in the pituitary gland, signaling it to release growth hormone. This supports the body’s natural pulsatile GH signaling rather than supplying growth hormone directly.

  • What’s the cancellation policy?

  • We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours will incur a 50% fee. If we arrive and are unable to reach you or access the appointment location after a brief grace period, the visit will be considered a no-show and may be charged up to the full service amount. Same-day bookings require a minimum of 4 hours’ notice for any changes. As each appointment is reserved exclusively for you — including provider time and travel — we appreciate your understanding.

  • Are there conditions that disqualify someone?

  • Certain conditions—including active malignancy, pituitary disorders, pregnancy or breastfeeding, uncontrolled metabolic conditions, or other significant medical concerns—may affect candidacy. Medical history and medications should be reviewed before treatment.

  • Is Sermorelin FDA-approved?

  • Sermorelin has a somewhat unusual regulatory history: an FDA-approved sermorelin product previously existed for a specific diagnostic indication but was later discontinued. Sermorelin products currently used in wellness or anti-aging settings are not FDA-approved for those purposes, so I would avoid simply labeling Sermorelin “FDA-approved” on the Oasis website.

  • How long does it take to notice increased pigmentation?

  • There is no established treatment timeline, and individual response can vary based on baseline skin tone, genetics, dose, and other factors. Changes in pigmentation may develop gradually rather than immediately.

  • Do I still need sunscreen while using Melanotan II?

  • Yes. Increased pigmentation does not eliminate the risk of UV-related skin damage or skin cancer. Broad-spectrum sunscreen and appropriate sun-protective measures remain important.

  • Do I need to tan or use UV exposure with Melanotan II?

  • Melanotan II can increase pigmentation, but intentional UV exposure carries established risks and should not be considered “safe” because Melanotan II is being used. We would avoid positioning tanning beds or additional UV exposure as part of the treatment protocol.

  • Can Melanotan II make freckles or moles darker?

  • It can increase pigmentation of existing freckles, moles, and other pigmented areas. Any new, rapidly changing, irregular, bleeding, itching, or otherwise concerning lesion should be evaluated by a qualified dermatology provider.

  • Candidacy requires individualized medical evaluation. A history of melanoma or other skin cancers, atypical/dysplastic nevi, concerning pigmented lesions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or certain medical conditions may make treatment inappropriate or warrant additional evaluation.

  • What are the possible side effects?

  • Reported effects can include nausea, flushing, decreased appetite, headache, fatigue, increased pigmentation of freckles or moles, and changes in libido or spontaneous erections. Because Melanotan II is investigational, its complete long-term safety profile has not been established.
